It takes a trip through Fort Payne, Alabama to get to Leeds from Ontario, and it was Fort Payne that everyone went to tonight, but not the North Alabama town. Kenyon Payne won the Honda Grand Prix of Alabama after a fierce, race long battle with Stephen Laarkamp and Danny Roberts.  Payne prevailed with a fifteen second margin over Roberts. Laarkamp struggled in the late going and fell to sixth, but it was enough to lock up his second straight title. Caeton Bomersbach rounded out the podium. Roberts collected the Pole Position bonus, while Payne collected the Laps Lead Bonus. Next week the tour heads to sunny Miami, Florida for the Season Two finale on the high banks of Homestead-Miami Speedway. All the action can be caught on Fusion Motorsports TV.

For the first time on this website. Stephen Laarkamp has won a Formula World Series Oval Event, and oh boy what a race it was. After a late race caution, varying pit strategies meant Eric Steinmetz lead the field to green on the restart, but the Indiana driver caught the wall on exit of four on the final lap, allowing Stephen Laarkamp to sweep low and take victory, his first victory featuring no right turns. Stephen Taylor snatched second and Will Roberts grabbed third. Rounding out the top five were Phil Clark and a very distant Eric Steinmetz. Many cars got trapped a lap down under the long green run as the field ran the middle 80 laps of the race caution free. Two yellows were flagged tonight, while the race saw seven different leaders and fifteen lead changes. Danny Roberts took pole and the unrelated Will Roberts lead the most laps on the night. Stephen Laarkamp stretched his points lead to 78 over Danny Roberts and 117 over Kenyon Payne. Next week the series stays in the Pacific Rim as they make their first visit to Australia, to the beautiful Phillip Island Circuit, just outside of Melbourne. Tune in to FMTV for all the action.

Loggins and Messina? Nah, it's Danny Roberts! Roberts knew when to hold em' and when to fold em' in Kansas. The wayward son lead late in the race when a yellow flag wreaked havoc with the running order, and Roberts and Eric Micke were able to pit under yellow while the field behind waited to be waived around the Safety Car. When the field went back green with five to go, Roberts sat second but was able to make a very aggressive pass stick on Micke and took the lead, and didn't look back. Micke held on for second, local favorite Chris Gutierrez finished third, points leader Stephen Laarkamp was fourth and Cody Wenzen was fifth. Laarkamp still leads the points, but the victory vaults Roberts ahead of Payne for second, where he now sits fifty three points adrift of the reigning champion. Chris Gutierrez lead the most laps on the night while Ken McCoy set fastest lap. Next week the series heads to the Land of the Rising Sun for the Indy Japan 250 from Twin Ring Motegi. Catch all the action on Fusion Motorsports TV.
