Silliman Holds off Kish, Laarkamp at Iowa

Newton, IA- Tim Silliman was able to cap off three races at Iowa Speedway this week with his first win of the season. Silliman lead from a late caution and was able to defend from Ryan Kish (3rd) and Stephen Laarkamp (2nd) in the closing laps. Former WIRL Driver Erick Davis in his first ISDC Start lead 91 of 143 laps on the night and set the fastest lap but late contact ended his hopes for victory. Travis Bennett was able to capitalize on the night with a fourth place after his earlier Lights victory,

and Johnny Eckert got fifth, which allowed him to hold his slimmed points lead. Eckert leaves Iowa with a seven point lead over Laarkamp and nine over Silliman. The series heads into Indianapolis for Pole Qualifying next week. Last season Jonathan Goke set a new track record at over a 231 mile per hour average. The warmer weather this season means that it's going to take a committed drive to set a new track record.

Bennett Barely Bests Bomersbach

Newton, IA- In a thrilling Indy Lights event, the series debut on ovals, Travis Bennett was able to avoid late carnage as the race finished under caution conditions and nose barely ahead of Caeton Bomersbach at the line. Will Roberts lead Alex Boffoli and Dylan Lee when the three made contact, allowing Bennett and Bomersbach to slide through. Roberts lead the most laps, while Tim Silliman took pole and Nick Staller took fastest lap. Cody Wenzen retains the points lead into the off week.

Eckert Doubles Down On Stock Car Thursday

Rockingham, NC- After the opening event at Iowa Speedway for the week, Johnny Eckert flew back to Rockingham, North Carolina where he again proved he is the force to be reckoned with this season. Eckert was able to be smart in the late stages, stealing a Stage Win from Will Roberts and playing the strategy right after a late caution, while others fell back. Will Roberts finished second, Tim Silliman was third, Dylan Ackart fourth and the driver with the most laps lead on the night Logan 
McAnally rounded out the Top 5. Eckert also collected the Stage Victory, for the additional Playoff Point to go along with it. Tim Silliman exits Rockingham with the points lead, just ahead of Nate Bowers. Bowers is still set to lead the points into Richmond though. Next up the series heads to its second large oval, the Michigan International Speedway, for a sprint affair in Motor City.

Late Caution Lets Eckert Hold Off Field

Newton, Iowa- As the Formula World Series teams and drivers were starting to roll in, the drivers of the Tough Truck Challenge were already here and gearing up for the third round of the Championship. Johnny Eckert came in to the Cyclone State with a point to prove, on the back of a second and first place finish to start the season, Eckert came into Iowa looking to cement his hold on the title. As the race entered the late laps, strategy came into play. Contact caused the yellow to 
fly and the race ended under caution conditions, with Eckert at the front. Tim Silliman finished second, Chris Gutierrez third, Robert Hill was fourth and Cody McCorkle was fifth. Gutierrez lead sixty of the seventy one laps, and took the fastest lap and pole honors. The finish meant that the title is now strongly in Eckert's favor, with a half race lead with only three races to go. Next week the Tough Trucks prove who really is the toughest at the bullring on the front stretch of Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kish Kash's In at Brands Hatch

Brands Hatch, UK- Ryan Kish played his cards just right, and when the gamble's came to light, it was Kish who had the strongest hand. Stephen Laarkamp dominated the Formula World Series first trip to Britain, leading 68 of 76 laps, but when the race came down to the wire, after charging hard on a bold strategy to out run Tim Silliman, a caution caught Laarkamp out on his strategy, and he was unable to capitalize, allowing Kish to sweep through and lead the final six circuits to win the London 
World Series. two drivers of late controversy, Johnny Eckert and Danny Roberts rounded out the unofficial podium, while Stephen Laarkamp eventually finished fourth. Stephen Laarkamp lead the most laps on the night, while Ryan Kish, and Hill Motorsports teammates Johnny Eckert and Alex Boffoli lead the remaining 8 laps on the night. Stephen Laarkamp took the bonus for pole, as well as collected fastest lap honors. Johnny Eckert exits Britain and heads to Iowa with the points lead by seventeen over thrice defending champion Stephen Laarkamp. Ryan Kish sits only five behind the former champion, with Tim Silliman in fourth and Danny Roberts in fifth. Next week the Formula World Series will return to iRacing live and to Off Camber TV.

Laarkamp Wins Race, Website Hates Will

Brands Hatch, UK- Due to technical difficulties, briefly. Stephen Laarkamp won, he dominated the Indy Lights race from Brands Hatch. GAP SRT Teammate Cody Wenzen finished second, Dylan Lee was third. Cody holds the points lead, Taylor Dragoo is second, Jeff Newport third. Next week Lights serves as the undercard to the Formula World Series at Iowa.
