Man it was a hot one, but Kenyon Payne gave it all, and stayed smooth under the intense pressure at the end. Payne lead much of the latter part of the race, and had to fend off Will Roberts in a twenty two lap run to the checkers, eventually finishing with a gap of just under half a second. The unrelated, Danny Roberts finished third, Stephen Laarkamp battled back after contact put his race in jeopardy, while part time rookie Jason Jacoby finished fifth. Tim Silliman continued his momentum following the strong performance at Sebring by taking pole. The race was slowed twice for seven laps, both for incidents exiting Turn 4. There were seven lead changes between six different drivers. Kenyon Payne lead the most laps on the night, with 53, while Caeton Bomersbach had the fastest lap, at a 19.836. Next week the series makes it's first stop on a street circuit all year, for the famed Grand Prix of Long Beach.
