Fenders or Not, Stephen Laarkamp has been lighting the world on fire lately. The Formula World Series Champion took victory tonight in the Inaugural Daytona 300 from the high banks of Daytona, Florida. In what turned out to be a photo finish, Laarkamp held off a charging John Ahles and Michael Chinn to win by thirty six thousandths of a second. Stephen Taylor took fourth and Caeton Bomersbach fifth, while Cody Wenzen fell ran out of fuel and fell back to sixth. Laarkamp lead over half the race to finish with forty one laps lead. Six drivers lead for a total of seven lead changes. There was one caution for three laps. Next week the Grand National Series visits Martinsville for the Virginia 125.
